I said before that words have been too heavy lately. They still are pretty damned heavy, but I am coming around. I'm gathering strength thanks to family, friends, my wife, and a major head and heart check. I'm going to kick cancer's ass, or at least kick ass going out.
I have a couple of funnies to share. Our cable went out the other day and the cable company took 6 days to come out and fix it. I called them and demanded a refund for those days, which they were not going to do. I said, "Listen, I've just been diagnosed with Colon cancer, and I've had doctors all over this city sticking things up my ass, I don't need the cable company doing the same thing." They gave me the refund.
We were flipping around all of our 5 stations while the cable was out, and we came across the original Ocean's Eleven with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. We came in on the scene when one of the 11 is in the doctor's office looking at an x-ray of his lungs. He says, "Give it to me straight doc. Is it the big casino?" I tried that one on my colon surgeon. I think he thought it was funny.
Liver Biopsy tomorrow. In case I havn't touched bases with you, it may have spread to my liver and beyond. There are marks from a CT scan that suggest it has. They x-rayed my lungs yesterday. No word yet, but I think we are going to request that they scan my whole fricken body. If it has gotten out of my colon, it could go anywhere pretty quickly. I also have to go do an ultra sound pretty soon to get a better picture of that son of bitch in my intestines. Met with the surgeon who will remove some of my colon. Nice guy. I feel good about him doing it. He seems pretty optimistic. Little concerned about the liver, but fuck it, let's do this.
